The Domino Effect.....

For the past couple of weeks, I've been doing some thinking and writing about the Domino effect. Yesterday as I finished my current book, I found a short passage that managed to articulate what was on my mind in 22 words, then all the material I've written, crossed out, and deleted over the past few weeks. Sometimes you just have to be short, concise, and to the point:

"Choices. Decisions. Life is simply a collection of choices and decisions, and everyone's life is a reflection of their decisions and choices."

Unfortunately in life there are no "re-do's", only new beginnings and the exploration of the unknown.

The Voice within......

The Voice within……..

The power of Shango is about perseverance. Knowing that anything that your going through, you can make it to the end. We’re all born with a personal power, which is all we have in life, so its not something you should give away easily.

Take a moment…….

Turn off your radio, television, or any other device that is making noise.

Put your right hand over your stomach with your left hand on top of the right.

Close your eyes and ask yourself the following question.

“What is it that you need to let go of, in order to hold on to your own personal power?”

Take a minute and just listen for what your spirit is telling you. Once you hear it, move your hands from your stomach to your heart. Breathe In…..and then Breathe Out……

Black has always been a interesting color to me. Despite it's negative conotations (blacklist, black humor, "black death", it also denotes strength and authority and gives the feeling of perspective and depth. Black is also associated with fear and the unknown. It is for these many reasons and more that I chose to refer to this time as the black period as I reorganize and process some of the things going on in my life at the moment. In dealing with these issues i'm finding that they are bringing out both the best and worst in me.

I now know why the caged bird sings....
